After a manic day in surgery yesterday and today i am now in the airport waiting to fly to London to present at the Brits event tomorrow. A day where several practice owners are demonstrating how they have created a successful dental practice in unusual circumstances. Looking forward to it and the following trip to the theatre to see Blood Brothers.
Just said night night to my babies.

Just recently we have carried out some redecoration in the form of painting all rooms and adding wallpaper to the waiting area. Unsure of it’s impact and intially nervous we have had a very positive response to date from many visitors.

February 23, 2009An existing client returned to see us today, what she said was the highlight of my day.
‘Hello James, its like returning home, being here again’….. what a lovely compliment.
For this lady we have achieved all we would want or hope to in terms of her ‘patient experience’ and so a pat on the back to the team.

Accupuncture
February 21, 2009For many dentists the job holds the risk of physical injury. This can be in the form of back pain, repetitive strain injury, needlestick injury or even someone biting you when ‘frozen’ up. I often hear of colleagues running to the physiotherapist or chiropractor to ease pains that many accept as part of the job. For me to date I have been lucky, in 7 years only 2 problems, both lower back and thankfully not serious.
However, this week I have had an acute new problem with my neck and shoulder. This started on wednesday night and I awoke on thursday morning in severe pain. Knowing I had no choice but to get on with it the last 2 days have been agony, not just ‘man pain’ but real pain, constantly with little relief with painkillers. I hope that this is not the start of a long term issue which can blight this job.
I had accupuncture on Friday morning and this has helped a little and will continue a course of treatment next week, I trust that in a few days things will be back to normal!!
